How to play TS files

TS files are Transport Stream files that are usually recorded from High Definition Digital TV Broadcasts. The stream contained in TS file may be encoded using MPEG2, H.264, or VC-1 format.

To play back TS files using your media player such as WMP, MPC or KMP, you need install appropriate DirectShow filters. Among the various filters we recommend you use Haali Media Splitter.

After installing this filter, you should be able to play most MPEG-2 TS files. If you have downloaded an HD TS file and can't play back it, you need also install the appropriate codec filters.
