WiHD (Wireless HD) is a high-speed radio standard, which is designed to transmit high-definition video and audio streams between AV equipment via wireless radio channels. WirelessHD Version 1.0 supports data rates of up to 4Gbps. This meas it is capable of handling full HD (1080p) video without high-efficiency coding. WiHD can be seen as a wireless version of High Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI). WiHD utilizes orthogonal frequency division multiplex (OFDM) technology to ensure stable data transfer in the enviroments where there are many obstacles. WiHD compliant equipment will likely appear by the end of 2008.
